Is accommodation for all three nights in Ranfurly?

Hi Amanda,
Yes it is, you have your own room with private bathroom for the three days. Each evening your driver takes you out to a different little town in the district for a meal. That way you get the very best of seeing the area whilst having a home base - this means you can relaax without constant packing and unpacking each day.

Hi there, are children (around 3 years old) allowed to do this activity? How much noticed is given if the tour dates need to be changed? (we are based in Wellington so would need to organise flights and accommodation). Cheers, Marta

Hi Marta - children are allowed to do this activity.
We guarantee that once any tour has a booking on it that it will go ahead on the date stated. You can have confidence that if you buy a coupon the tour will go ahead and that you can get flights straight away. I hope this answers your question if not give me a call.

Hi Nik, thank you for your reply. How do the 3 year old kids go on the bike?
Nick from Off The Rails - Otago

Hi Marta - We would usually have a youngster in a buggy or if they can already ride a 'tagalong' bike towed by an adult.

Hello, if we wanted to buy tickets for three people as a group do you have that option within the pay choice or do they have to be done separately. Also, would three people get a room each of would we bunk in together? Thanks in advance

Hi Pauline - E-Bikes $100 extra i.e. $25 per day - the best deal going!

Hi Steve - you can buy up to 4 coupons at one time - two for you and two for a friend.
For singles we work on a twin-share basis (two per room). We can upgrade singles to one per room if required at an additional cost.

Hi, if you take the option of the railway back to Dunedin on the last day does that take place after the last days ride or instead of the last days ride i:e would we lose a days riding, thanks

Hi Steve
You don't lose any riding by taking the train on the last day. There is less riding on Day Four as we need to factor in travel time whether you are heading to Dunedin or back to Queenstown. We can book train tickets on your behalf for you and take you to the train station at the end of your ride.

Good morning. Is it possible to use a step thru bicycle and is there an extra charge?
Nick from Off The Rails - Otago

Hi Kay
The type of bike we usually use is an Avanti step thru design. We use these because they are more comfortable on the trail. The exception is if you are over 1.85 m tall as they don't make a step thru frame in this size. There is no extra charge at all for this

Do you meet cyclists at various parts of the journey in the day in case they need to get a ride in vehicle instead of cycling?
Emma from GrabOne Escapes

Nick will be back soon Catherine to help you with this :)
Nick from Off The Rails - Otago

Hi Catherine, Yes, that's exactly how it works. These tours are fully supported by one of our drivers. The driver usually meets he group 3-4 times per day but this can vary depending on such things as the prevailing weather and the cycling ability of the group.

Hi Lynda
We have no problem at all catering for guests with food allergies. Coeliac options are available with our home baking and breakfasts, as well as at all the eateries we take you to.

I’m confused about the dates this deal is available. In the ‘Highlights’ it gives travel choices from October 2018 to April 2019. But in the ‘Conditions’ it states June 2018 to August 2018. Could you clarify please. Shelley.
